Escape mode - a frantic challenge for players of any skill level due to dynamic timing. Games typically run from 20 seconds to two minutes and often feature a desperate rush to win in the final few seconds.
Explore mode - an untimed, relaxed mode similar to undertaking a weekend crossword puzzle. Game seeds allow players to challenge friends or beat their own scores.
Survive mode - a timed mode which allows for a longer effort, but not without bursts of panic anytime the clock drops to single figures. Strongly rewards vocabulary and speed.
Discover mode - a deliberate and untimed mode in which you aim to reach the edge of play in as few words as possible. A real vocabulary challenge.
